  25.   UtahRLE.svobject is an external Library-Module for
  26.   superview.library.
  27.  
  28.   It needs any SVDriver with 24 Bit ChunkyPixel-Support.

  30.   It supports reading and writing of UtahRLE (RayTracer) Files.

  43.    - only 24 Bit sources will be written as Utah RLE
  44.      There's no conversion done from e.g. 256 Colors to 24 Bit
  45.      to perform the requirements of this file format.
  46.    - while writing Utah RLE 24 Bit files, the machine will
  47.      "deadlock" for a short time, which looks like it has been
  48.      crashed silently, but it will be back soon.
  49.      DON'T RESET, since this might affect your harddisk, as usual.
  50.    - don't know, whether the Utah URT routines are re-entrant
  51.      and might be used by more than one program at the same time

  56.   This program is FREEWARE.
  57.   The author does not claim any copyrights on the code, which is
  58.   used to read and write the UtahRLE-file (see credits)
  59.  
  60.   Copyright is only claimed for the program as a whole, which means
  61.   that some parts of the library module, which are also used within
  62.   other SVObjects, are copyrighted by the author.

  67.   This program uses the "rle.lib" which contains routines from
  68.  
  69.                        THE UTAH RASTER TOOLKIT
  70.  
  71.   These routines have in this case been taken from a distribution of
  72.   the RayShade Raytracer (4.0.6.3) and have been recompiled for
  73.   68030 systems under use of SAS/C V6.57.
  74.   Due to the distribution conditions of the URT kit I felt it would
  75.   be most appropriate to include the full source code of this
  76.   SVObject as well as those parts of the URT kit, which have been
  77.   used. Only some additional example programs, which had been added
  78.   by the authors of the Rayshade Raytracer are actually missing
  79.   (I don't know, whether there are more sources available).

  82.   sourcecode files (blurb.urt tell where you can obtain these from).

  84.   Some words to the implementation:
  85.   To find out, how to implement the URT support itself I consulted
  86.   the sourcecodes which have been supplied with the RayShade Raytracer,
  87.   the FBM package and the JFIF-JPEG routines.
  88.   No source codes from there have been needed, but these really
  89.   helped a lot in finding out, how it actually works.
